I've always enjoyed items with multiple purposes (perhaps because I'm a multi-faceted and multi-tasking individual). I use leftover mason jars as drinking glasses and storage for cotton balls/bathroom items; binder clips not only hold sheets of paper together, but can hold artwork up without needing to put thumbtack holes through the art; so it seems like a good idea to talk about multi-functional items within a wardrobe. Specifically, items that are easily convertible for different looks (with limited work) in relation to Holiday parties for this post.
This month I was especially aware of the need for a multi-functional wardrobe when I realized I had three different Holiday Parties to attend, and no money for a new dress (or room to be perfectly honest).
I had recently picked up a strapless dress that I thought would be perfect for a summer wedding I'm attending next year. When thinking about all of these upcoming parties, I realized not only would this dress work for summer, but with some layers, I'd be able to wear it in winter too.
I ended up wearing this dress in 3 different ways for 3 different events, all within a two week period-and the people who saw me in it two or three times didn't realize it was the same dress until I mentioned it later (I may have patted myself on the shoulder a bit after that).
Here are a few cute ways I've found to dress up my strapless dress:
There you have it! A few ways to think about bringing to life an old dress for different gatherings this Season.
Wishing everyone a fantastic week of events as we approach 2014!
