I was inspired to create this post by something I had been planning out for work yesterday. Right before our Holiday break, we have a "spirit week" at work where we get to do fun things each day for the 5 days before we leave. One of those days was "Dress like a gift" day. I decided I wanted to think outside of the box (or inside of the box if you will...) by being the actual present inside instead of wrapping myself in paper or ribbon (which is still fun!) like I had done last year.
While I couldn't stand in a box at work all day (might get in the way of needing to move around), I could stand in a box momentarily to take these pictures at home.
My "gift" was a ballerina, complete with a bejeweled headband (I found my hot glue gun for the Ugly Sweater project, and now there's no stopping me!).
As a child, waiting is always the hardest part, but I imagine it must be just as hard to wait when you're the toy (anyone else have the sudden urge to watch a certain series of movies now?)!
This was a lot of fun to come up with and finally put together, so between making the headband and wrapping the gift to stand in, I think I'll be prepared for any crafting or wrapping situations that come up this week!
Thank you again to Sam for taking these while I jumped in and out of a box (there was one moment of literal jumping which has been deleted from history-no one needs to see my lack of dance ability) in the cold.
What was your favorite gift as a child?
