Finally had my first shoot with Dan Minicucci Photography for 2014 in February!
Ironically, we shot at the same time as we had last year-the second to last week of February (Shadows of the Past was the 2013 shoot- in case you were wondering). We went to an AMAZING location in New Hampshire this year-even the drive to get there was beautiful.
I was worried that the "wintry mix" we were having would ruin the shots, but it actually added such beautiful atmosphere, making the color of the outfits really pop against the muted sky and ground.
I also had a chance to revisit the Marie Antoinette dress made for me by Amanda Moisan (designer of the Ginchy 60s wardrobe as well)-I had shot in it briefly once before, but not to the full potential I knew it had, so I was excited to work in it again-this time outdoors (and with my trusty contacts for added fun).
I also learned that when working outside during cold, damp weather, your stamina drains a lot faster. I was exhausted by the end of the day-glad that I had packs of Ramen stacked in a cupboard at home to make a quick meal (and before you start in on me, I'm not a starving college student...anymore-I just REALLY love Ramen).
Pretty sure I fell asleep 15 minutes after I finished eating... In fact, I was so tired, when I woke up the next morning, I found this on my phone...
...At least the pile of stuffed animals distract from any potentially strange faces I may have been making...
Needless to say, I finally got my snow shoot for this year! Now I'm ready for spring and sunlight again-I've already started coming up with plenty of ideas for warmer weather- It's all up to nature at this point (come oooooon nature!).
Is anyone else as equally fascinated as they are fearful of the fog as I am?
