It amazes me how just a change of shoes can change not only your entire appearance, but your mentality and confidence as well. Maybe its that whole "tall" thing that happens (at least for me), or maybe it's that tall thing AND suddenly becoming aware of the rest of your body while learning how to balance on 4-5 inches that were not previously attached to the bottom of your feet...
Whatever the case, I also love how by just throwing a pair of heels on, you've instantly upgraded your outfit from casual to ...not so casual...
Jeans and a sweater? Casual. Add some heels? FANCY!
Sundress and bolero? Cute. Add some heels? FANCY!
Swimsuit? Summer-y. Add some heels? ....I don't know where you're going with this because heels + sand = sinking/falling over and horse-like walking...but I bet you'll look FANCY when you're standing still!
Heels are not for everyone, I understand this. I know plenty of girls who feel more confident in a pair of sneakers or boat shoes. Totally fine (and especially understandable if you're afraid of heights or tripping).
I think that everyone should find something that makes them feel more confident, and embrace it...especially if its a loved one. If they make you feel more confident, embrace them...constantly. And when they ask why, make sure to tell them you're simply embracing what makes you feel confident. They will most likely look at you like you're a freak, but hey, they may laugh and you'll get points for originality (I won't even make you credit me, that's how nice I'm feeling today).
What makes you feel confident?
