As a heads up, I'm diverting from my usual model and fashion related posts today. I wanted to write something a little more personal (again). No worries, you'll be back to your regularly scheduled program of failed tutorial attempts, gallery pictures, and various "list" based posts soon enough.
Last week was my birthday, but more importantly, it was also my biggest fan's birthday. If you assumed I mean my mother- you're correct.
Not only did I steal this poor woman's birthday (now she is stuck being 28 forever), I even stole her looks (what a rotten kid, huh?)! But whether she knows it or not, both of those things make me incredibly happy. For example, why it may be a little annoying not to have your own day to celebrate, you will ALWAYS have someone that you can rely on to wish you a happy birthday (even if they're not on Facebook), or a pal who will gladly celebrate with you, because they get to celebrate their own birthday too (instant party)!
As for looking like her...it's nice to be able to look at someone and know that as you grow, there is potential for you to become just as beautiful as they are one day, in both looks and personality (I also got my complimenting/sweet-talking abilities from my mom -in case you were wondering).
She has always been my biggest supporter, cheering me on no matter if we are together or not, and I will always appreciate that. And because she was such a big supporter, for her birthday, I bought her a copy of the first magazine that I was published in this year (because just telling her friends about me isn't annoying enough, now she can show them pictures too)!
I wouldn't be where I am today without her (obviously the whole coming into existence thing would have been especially difficult), so this is my very public thank you for all of the support, love, and appreciation.
Happy Birthday Marmie!
