If any of you have been following my blog since it began, you may remember a post I did last Autumn about the various sweaters in my collection. I also mentioned doing a follow up post (a "FALLow" up ...get it? Cause it's Fall?...and it's a follow up?...ya you get it...) about other sweaters I wear often.
So here we are, for the Autumn 2014 sweater update. I've traded in quite a few of the ones I had last year for various reasons-too small, too itchy, too sweater-y (read as: kept me too warm/made me sweat), and kept a few which I still wear often (my short sleeve blue sweater and striped collared sweater for example).
I've learned that variation is the key in having a diverse, but manageable sweater wardrobe. It comes in handy to have different weights, sizes, and textures of sweater, not just colors.
For example, larger sweaters are great for the comfort factor of feeling cozy and wrapped up in soft fabric, but they can also become very stylish if tucked into a skirt or when paired with chunky jewelry, fitted pants, and pair of heels.
At the same time, I also like to keep more fitted style sweaters on hand to go with skirts/dresses and not feel totally swallowed by fabric. They also tend to look great with a flared jean and boot.
Last on my list, I always love a light weight, neutral colored sweater with a longer length to dress up jeans or make a skirt/dress more casual. Light weight sweaters are great for any time of year because you can wear them on cooler summer days, or simply layer them over long sleeve shirts in the winter.
Once the weather cools off (like it has this past week for example) sweaters are the first item I pick out of my wardrobe to create an outfit for work. Even when I'm not putting an "outfit" together using them, I love bumming around the house in a big sweater and comfy jeans.
What's your favorite style of sweater?
