Every Winter I find myself wanting to try out different hairstyles, only to realize I'll have to go outside into the blistering cold. Thus, my newly attempted "do" is pointless because I'll be adding a hat to try and stay warm, and probably ruin whatever I worked on.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, so I chose a few easy-to-do looks to try this Winter - and they all look good with hats!
First on my list, the "hair flip" - best worn with a knit hat.
Sometimes I miss having my short hair, so I'll flip my ponytail up into my hat and create a "faux bang / short hair" look.
This is also a lot of fun now that my hair is ombre because I get to see how it would look blonde.
I like larger knit hats for this look because you can roll it up or down to show off more or less hair (depending on what look you're going for).
Second on my list: Side braid / bun - worn with a "fancier" hat style
One of my go-tos is a side braid - it's easy to do, keeps my hair out of my face, and looks cute sticking out of a hat.
But when I want to kick the fancy up a bit, I'll turn it into a messy low bun.
Aside from looking nice under a hat, if you take the hat off, it doesn't ruin the look if it's already a bit on the messy side (and if you already planned on the top of your hair being on the flat side...).
Third and last on this list - don't worry too much about your hair - just find an awesome hat!
Lucky for me I have a few options for fun hats: Mohawk Nightmare Before Christmas hat, Sock Monkey hat...etc.
Of course if there are strings hanging off the hat, you can have fun with those too by braiding them into your hair...
Whatever your hat/hair choice, make sure to stay warm this Winter, and try to have a little fun!
Sorry about this being up later than usual - I had a corrupted memory card this weekend and some issues with my editing program. But a late post is better than no post (at least to me it is)!
What's your go-to look in Winter? Do you have a favorite Winter hat/hair combo?
Stay warm friends!
