So if you're not from New England, you may not know that we've had a range of snow the past two days. People got anywhere from 8 inches to 3 feet. Lucky for me, my work decided to close yesterday (and today) so no one had to travel in the ridiculous blizzard. During my time off from work, I decided to make a list of some of my favorite things to do on a Snow Day.
Of course, there are solo snow days, and snow days spent with friends/roommates....So I made suggestions for both (because when it comes to lists, the more the merrier)!
Snow day with fellow adults
Make some Hot chocolate (make it an “adult hot chocolate” by adding a little Chambord for a hint of raspberry flavor)
Bake cookies (to dip in your hot chocolate obviously) and any other snacks the group is craving
Play a game (May I suggest card/board games like Cards Against Humanity, or Settlers of Catan? Or if everyone wants to move around a bit, compete with some Dance Central)
Watch a Movie (Scott Pilgrim VS The World is a great movie to watch with friends)
Play a combo board/movie game (Clue is a classic example of this, but they have new ones out for movies like Pirates of the Caribbean)
Venture outside for a snowball fight - because you know you’ll have to go out and shovel at some point anyways, so why not have everyone warm up with a quick run around first?
Solo Snow day
Pour yourself some Chambord (with a hint of Hot Chocolate ...for chocolate flavor... it’s not like anyone else is around to judge you…)
Read that book you haven’t had time to finish because of your crazy work schedule
Play a game (May I suggest Solitaire or any number of awesome video games- my personal favorites are Diablo 3 if you’re looking for an adventure, or Beautiful Katamari if you need something both ridiculous and fun)
Watch a Movie (or binge watch whatever guilty pleasure series is on your Netflix queue...hey, no one else is around to judge...still)
Build a snowman (or twenty) to keep you company (and blame for not helping you shovel)
Call your mom or dad or best friend - basically, just remind people that you are in fact alive before they start interrupting your solo snow day
