On Valentine's Weekend I had the chance to get away for a few days. While I didn't go too far (not even out of the freshly snowed in state), even getting away from the apartment for a day or two was enough to break the cabin fever that being surrounded by snow was bringing on.
I spent the majority of my time relaxing, did a little swimming, and ate some delicious food (the Guinness Chocolate Pudding I had was to die for) at a few different restaurants.
I also managed to sneak a photo shoot in between all of these things before leaving the comforts of a king size bed and a sliding glass door (so much more light than at home!).
Even though I don't mind taking self portraits, its so much easier when someone else can take the pictures and tell you "NO, That is NOT a good angle - try something else..." or "That looks great...just don't turn around...", all that good honest stuff you need to hear in the moment instead of after you've already taken a bunch of unusable pictures (not to mention, everyone brings something different and special to a shoot, making it more unique with the shared style).
That being said, I'd like to thank Sam for helping with the setup and taking the shots for this particular boudoir idea. She has also been helping with all of my editing questions and critiquing the work I've already done, so another thank you for the suggestions while I was going through and editing these (Is there a stronger word for "thank you", or should I just say it about 20 more times until it doesn't sound like a real phrase anymore?)!
I'm excited to see what our combined efforts come up with for future shoots, especially after seeing both these shots and the shots from our Northern Amazon concept...
Any suggestions for shoots you'd like to see in the future?
