Some of you may remember a post I did in 2013 about moving. I don't think I ever mentioned that I had moved in October of last year (2014) because I was so intent on doing my Month of Masquerades posts and my personal life just wasn't as interesting as putting on costumes.
Well, I thought I'd give a quick update (because I haven't had time to do the Fashion posts/Pinterest attempts that I would normally post)...I've moved again (...again...)!
It wasn't a very good fit, and if you follow any of my other social media, you may remember some indicators as to why (small, dark, and bit on the chilly side were a few). It was only a 6 month lease though, so once more, I have a new address, and new rooms to try and figure out the best lighting in (which is both exciting and intimidating, especially after I had finally found the right wall to use for makeup tutorials at my previous place...).
Each place I move to, I take a picture the last day there after everything is packed away. It's become a sort of series now that happens (at this point) every year. I take one of myself, and one of Sam and I as a way of saying goodbye as we start our new adventure.
I feel that each of the images from my previous move(s) show the emotion of the move - how we feel leaving the memory of where we are, and the excitement of something new. With our most recent move though, I just remember being exhausted, and not being able to feel much else. During our other move(s), there was a moment for reflection on fond memories, but this move was draining mentally, physically, and emotionally (especially because I had been hoping to settle down for longer when first moving in not even 6 months before).
However...I cannot express the amount of joy I feel in my new home.
While I write this, it is snowing outside (Spring, you're failing big time...), but I am not bothered by it. I am warm...I am comfortable...and I am happy. Even with the snow falling, there is light coming in, and I can just look out the window and feel content.
I hope to post soon with some images of the more interesting places in the house, but at this point, I'm allowing myself a moment to relax, and enjoy my new abode.
Not to worry, I'll be back to posting the usual slightly silly, sometimes fashion-oriented- blogs next week! Meanwhile, with new spaces to work in, are there any new posts or photoshoots you'd like to see this Spring? Feel free to leave a comment or send a message!
