I've had some rough experiences when it comes to my skin. Lately it's been particularly sensitive and inflamed, so I haven't wanted to wear anything on it for fear of agitating it.
Of course, that means I have this vicious circle happening where I'm self conscious and want to add makeup to my face because my skin looks so bad, but when I try to put cover up on it either A) doesn't cover it fully or B) causes my skin to break out even more. Usually I end up feeling worse both physically in my skin, and emotionally (because self consciousness = all of the emotions).
However, through all of this, I found a foundation recently that I feel does a good job covering the redness my skin has been sporting, without feeling like I have to plaster on coverage. It's called Make Up For Ever HD, and I found it at Sephora (the makeup haven).
It goes on feeling light, and once it has a few minutes to set in, looks pretty light too.
At this point in time I don't wear it daily, I mostly save it for special occasions or photoshoots, and have been very pleased with how it looks. I also like that after I wash it off, my face doesn't feel dry like I've experienced with other foundations.
I also want to point out that all of the pictures I took for this post weren't retouched in any way (enjoy the slight variation in lighting seeing as the sun moved and my lighting was thrown off within five minutes....when will I learn?). I also opted out of putting any other makeup on so the comparison could be shown as close as possible.
All of this being said, I'm very pleased with Make Up For Ever HD Foundation so far, especially when it comes time to edit images for my blog - I feel like any skin retouching has already been done for me!
I'm hoping whatever is causing my skin irritation fades quickly - it's part of the reason I haven't been as jazzed about doing blog posts lately (those pesky "self-conscious" emotions again). Considering all the ideas I have waiting to be photographed, I need to start working soon!
Have you ever tried Makeup Forever HD or do you swear by another foundation?
