Looking back over the shoots I've done this year, I realized I haven't worked with a photographer since April (almost 4 months!). Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I was able to make plans with Wicked Mojo Photography, who I haven't had a chance to work with since last year.
It was a warm, but not boiling summer day, perfect for shooting outside! Our location ended up being a pond I used to visit and go swimming at, or walk the trails between classes when I was in college. It was a strange nostalgia when I noticed a few things had changed since I was there last (such as the road to get in), but the overall feeling of "Yaaaay summer!" was the same.
Seeing as the water was so nice, the majority of my shoot ended up taking place in the pond. While I was happy to follow little fish around and get a chance to cool off a bit, once we got into the lily pads, the ground started getting squishy and full of vegetation that my toes were getting caught in. There may be a few pictures of my initial response to some especially slimy footholds...
The benefit of my getting into the water was the promise of ice cream if I did... (Sam, I'm holding you to that promise! There's plenty of proof that I got in!!!) ...because sometimes all you need is the right incentive.
Billy was fantastic to shoot with as usual (even though he was only running on two hours of sleep, poor guy) and we had a lot of fun walking around looking for our shot.
I can't wait to share my first summer shoot of 2015 with everyone! I'm hoping to work on a couple more summer photoshoot ideas as well, so keep an eye on the gallery!
