I fight for those who cannot fight for themselves
When I watched the new Wonder Woman movie, I knew I needed to portray her. However, I also knew I wanted to try something more unique than the costume that every store would be selling this year. Which is why the costume I chose was based off an illustration.
I’ve been searching for the artist but can’t find them – so as soon as I find out, full credit to them! I did make a few adjustments for my costume based on items I already have. Items such as the crop top, leggings, belt, and wig were already in my closet. But I did invest in a Wonder Woman tiara, a pair of red boots, some gauntlets, and an eagle necklace.
“It’s wonderful! You should be very proud.”
I also spent quite a bit of time painting this costume, though not as much as the last costume. Both gauntlets were painted and fitted with clasps instead of ribbon on the outside. Even the boots which originally had silver circles on them were painted gold, as well as the straps on my top. Because Wonder Woman’s top has the eagle breastplate, I wanted an eagle accent but knew I wouldn’t have time to make anything. It’s amazing the things you can find on Amazon these days…
This was another costume that I was glad I didn’t need to hide my arms for. In fact, I probably should have flexed more! I felt pretty badass posing for these shots – that is until my neighbors came out on their balcony to see what was going on. Then I felt it was a little early to be walking around in costume, but hey, you only live once.
I hope you all have a fantastic Halloween this year! I’m already looking forward to coming up with ideas for next year’s Month Of Masquerades!
