We must reject not only the stereotypes that others hold of us, but also the stereotypes that we hold of ourselves.

The Outfit
This was one of the few looks that I found an outfit for before my inspiration. The color and pattern on this halter jumpsuit, and the fact that it’s a jumpsuit, screamed 70s to me! And the plunging neckline and wide pant legs were a fun alternative to the other styles I’d done up to this point.
Jewelry was another fun alternative in this look. While the other decades had simpler accessories, the 70s sparkled with diamante jewelry and bolder pieces. I was able to put together a matching set of hanging earrings and pendant for a pop of color. Additionally, I had the chance to display another vintage piece, my great grandmother’s ruby ring, for a bigger statement!
While I would have loved to create a signature “Fawcett Flip” hairstyle, my hair refused to cooperate. But some loose curls added a bit of glamour to the look either way! Makeup was inspired by matching lighter outfit tones to my eyeshadow and featured a lighter lip color as well.
I hope you enjoyed my depiction of style during “The 1970s, The Me Decade”.
Stay tuned for the next post in this series, The 1980s: The “Greed Decade”!
