Closet staple?
We’re back with some more outfits ideas! So far, we’ve looked at LBD outfits, T-shirt outfits, and Maxi-dress outfits. But the one I’ve spent the longest to work on is the ever popular Jumpsuit Outfit. Why have I taken my time on this you may ask? Up until this past year, I’d never owned a jumpsuit or romper. I’ve done a few shoots using them, but they were never something in my own closet. I found them especially challenging to integrate in my daily-wear. Mostly because I thought with my petite frame, I’d look too child-like. Not to mention having a longer torso means an added challenge of finding something …comfortable.
The looks
I ended up finding two jumpsuits that I was surprisingly impressed by. And not just because they both have pockets!
One has a casual, summer vibe with spaghetti straps, a straight neck top, cropped legs, and a high waist. The other gives off a more formal vibe, with flowy legs, a deep V sleeveless top, and accent belt. For this jumpsuit, I like to tie the sash around the back to create a more defined waist for myself.
Both of these jumpsuits on their own give off a very different style. So I decided to double the fun and create looks inspired by each!
Casual
For both casual looks, I paired the jumpsuits with a t-shirt, black shoes, and a graphic bag.
With the more casual jumpsuit, a simple striped t-shirt and Vans created an almost skater chic look. The skater shoes and Vans bag helped with that as well!
The more formal jumpsuit was paired with a peasant sleeve t-shirt, some ballet flats, and stacked bracelets. I think it gives off a weekend, “Wanna grab another coffee?” vibe.
Business
For a business look, I used some of the same accessories for both outfits. A simple pendant necklace, matching stud earrings, and a black clutch.
To maintain the more casual business vibe, I opted for a polka-dot, cap sleeve blouse over this jumpsuit. Some pointed ballet flats bring everything together for a cute office look.
For a formal business look, I dressed up this jumpsuit with a fitted blazer. This particular blazer also sports a deep V for added drama. And some low heeled oxfords added a hint of retro vibes.
Fashion Forward
With both fashion forward styles, I opted for a pair of blacks heels, black purse, and a tight updo.
This fashion forward casual outfit is one of my personal favorites. A light floral kimono adds just a bit of color and a lot of elegance to such a simple look.
For a fashion forward formal outfit, I opted for a fitted quilted jacket to bring out some runway vibes. However, a leather jacket would also make this a fierce look!
Boho
To create a bohemian look, I paired each outfit with an oversized hat, statement pendant, and pair of boots.
Because the casual jumpsuit has a cropped leg, I opted to tuck the leg into some brown knee high boots. And to keep with neutral tones, I tossed on a camel colored mesh poncho.
The formal jumpsuit was paired with black ankle boots, and a lightweight green button up. I decided to tie it at the waist instead of using the jumpsuit sash when defining my waist here.
Bold Color
Because both jumpsuits are black, it’s easy to add some pattern and/or color in to make them pop! I went with a bold yellow purse and red flats for both looks.
For the casual jumpsuit, I tied a cropped kimono with bright red, green, and pink floral patterns over the top. This look gave off some cute Spring vibes for me!
The formal jumpsuit got a splash of color from a red floral blouse. I decided to wear the blouse underneath the jumpsuit so only the sleeves and collar showed. The blouse I chose has tiny red and yellow flowers patterned on it. I felt the red shoes and yellow bag were especially great accent pieces that tied it all together!
Cozy
I found the Cozy outfit the most challenging look to create. Typically when I think of jumpsuits, I think of wearing them in warmer weather. But my goal is to wear all of my base items at any point during the year. Luckily, layering is a great option for making the most out of your base pieces! For both styles I went with some cozy sweaters and my convertible camera bag, because it too is multilayered!
This cozy styling for the casual jumpsuit is more of a Fall vs Winter look since the legs are cropped. But with an oversized cream sweater and matching Toms, it makes for a fashionable cozy look. I’m ready to curl up just looking at it!
My last outfit is this layered formal jumpsuit. Topped with a fitted ribbed sweater, and some lined boots for a warm cozy style. All that’s missing a knitted beanie and scarf!
Conclusion
I’m pleased to say that I’m impressed with both of my jumpsuits. Not only do they each create a wonderful outfit base, they each look quite chic as is. I now think having a simple jumpsuit in your closet can add great diversity to your wardrobe!
