Curiouser and Curiouser
I’ve always had a fascination with Alice in Wonderland. I think it has to do with the idea of multiple worlds and finding your way through them. Perhaps it’s the idea of the journey, and finding new aspects you never knew existed in yourself before, that without said journey, you still wouldn’t know about. Whatever the case, it gave me a chance to play dress up in a dress my mom let me borrow when I was a kid.
I teamed up with Wicked Mojo Photography, who found us a beautiful location to work in. It was a bit chilly when first starting out, but that’s what you get for shooting outdoors in November. Lucky for me, the dress is long, so I was able to wear leggings beneath it. We played around with a few different ideas, and both of us ended up climbing trees during the shoot.
By the end of the shoot the sun had finally come out, so we took some time to look around and enjoy the location we set up in. I had the chance to really appreciate the last bit of color hanging onto the trees in a serene environment.
I’m happy to say that I finally feel like I used this dress to its extent. It will be happily retired back to where it came from – my mom’s closet – only a little worse for wear.
I also may have had a brief Cinderella moment and lost my shoe while running. But boy did it make for a great outtake, and a perfect way to end this post.
