Androgyny is something that comes up frequently in modeling. In high fashion settings, models with a more androgynous look are more versatile, and therefore can be used more often. Dan and I decided to play off that idea, and with fellow model Alena, we were able to create some contrasting dynamics in our images.
The height of contrast
People often assume I’m taller than I actually am. Especially when they see my pictures versus when they meet me in person. I’m only 5’4, but if I’m posing alone, I look a few inches taller. Not during this shoot though!
Alena is a stunning model, and at 6′, she had quite the height on me. Most noticeably when we stood next to each other for our duo shots. I’ve never felt so short before! That being said, I was very pleased with how well the shoot flowed, even with the significant height difference.
Dan set up a studio in Alena’s living room, and you’d never know we were in someone’s home from the images.
It was great seeing an old friend again and meet someone new. Thanks again for the collaboration guys! Make sure to check out both Dan and Alena’s Facebook pages to see their fantastic work!
