At the end of March, I had the chance to work with Drea Designs Couture. Not only was this a phenomenal chance to work with an amazing designer, but a chance to work with an entire group of ladies who know how to have a blast at a photoshoot!
Learning Experience
I learned a lot during this new experience, such as, always bring neutral underwear to a shoot-it can be a life saver. This is especially true when modeling things like swimsuits that may not fit perfectly. I felt covered and comfortable even though the suit was a bit large for my frame.
It also reminded me of the things I want to work on to improve my own modeling, for example, my hands. I have long, slender fingers, and because of this, they can look claw like if I’m not paying attention. While I’ve improved when it comes to changing poses, I know I don’t always give much variety in my facial expressions. It’s something simple that can be worked on and improved during future shoots, but it’s good to recognize.
The Cast and Crew
This was my first time working with Drea Designs Couture, and having the chance to wear her clothing was an honor. The first dress made me immediately think of Black Swan, and I loved the retro vibe from the shorter dresses. I also worked with Joanna (MUA) and Nancy (hair stylist) who are close friends outside of work. Listening to their jokes while they worked made the time fly by.
Many Thanks
And so I end this little “behind the scenes sneak peek” with a grand thank you to everyone involved. Including my very own navigator/light-bouncer/shoe buckler/and-everything-else-we forced-you-to-help-with-assistant, Sam. Thank you for being a good sport and helping wherever needed.
Thanks again Dan Minicucci Photography, Drea Designs Couture, Nancy V Brown, Joanna Petit-Frere, Cassandra Elie, and Marianna Krichakosta!
