A Classic Staple
I had so much fun creating my T-shirt outfit post that I decided to create something similar based off the classic wardrobe staple, the little black dress.
Most every woman owns at least one “LBD” because it so easily fits a variety of events:
Date night? LBD.
Reunion? LBD (unless you’re Romy and Michele– in which case, you do you girl).
But sometimes your classic staple can get a bit boring worn the same way for every event. So below are a few variations to bring some new life into an old favorite!
One typically wouldn’t think of their little black dress as a casual-wear item, but why not?! And if you don’t want it to be “too” casual, tie your flannel off and pair the outfit with some heeled boots.
With the simple addition of a fitted blazer and some heels, you’ll be ready to take on the board room. Minimal accessories such as a clutch, pearl earrings, and small necklace can add a bit of pizzaz.
For the daring soul who likes to go just a little bit extra, why not take some ideas from the runway? An oversized button up tied around the back and a pair of oxfords create a sexy combination of feminine and masculine accents.
Such an instant classic if you’re looking for a simple but chic style – a tunic shirt and belt with an oversize hat help create a cute bohemian vibe.
Every little black dress could do with a pop of color to brighten the feel. Red is always a favorite go to for accessories and makeup! This one is easy to dress up or down as well with option of bold shoes and scarves to try!
Similar to the Casual look, cozy is not something you’d typically associate with your LBD, but so many dresses are made from comfy materials now. Why not just add a sweater and a pair of jeans to add some flare to your winter-ready look?
Do you have a go to LBD in your closet?
Let me know if you were inspired to pair it with other items to create a new style after reading this post!
