First Impressions
My first shoot with Zack not only yielded amazing images but the start of a great a friendship as well. We walked through the streets of Portsmouth, taking pictures as we went and chatting the rest of the time. A fellow photographer and friend (thanks, Wicked Mojo Photography!) had suggested I contact Zachary Stone Photography. I felt like we hit it off immediately and it was easy to lose track of time during our conversations.
Making Friends
After shooting in town for a while, we stopped for a snack at a local brewery, and put all of our stuff down on the table and relaxed a bit. Toward the end of our meal, a waiter came over to the table to ask about the cameras, and we found out he shoots weddings in his spare time. The gentleman was nice enough to share a favorite shooting location he frequented in the area after some shop talk. We ended up changing our initial location plan and visiting his suggestion, Odiorne Point.
Once we arrived, we shot a bit in some grassy areas, and on the rocks in the ocean. I will say that this was my first time hopping across boulders in the ocean for a shoot, so it was a memorable experience. Especially trying to converse over the waves crashing against the rocks. It came down to hand gestures to communicate best potential poses and angles.
Regardless of conversation issues, we created one of my all-time favorite photos. It was even featured on Dark Beauty Mag on August 27th, 2015.
That’s a wrap
The night ended with a delicious dinner at a small place in Hampton, and an exchange of musical interests as we drove home. I had an amazing time during this shoot and recommend everyone visit Zack’s photography page and show him some support!
